Readers Rally
County Finals Competition March 2018
When will the team meet?
We will meet twice a month on Wednesdays after school in the Media Center. When we get closer to the county competition, we will meet once a week.
When is the county competition?
The Gwinnett County competition is on Saturday, March 4th, at Berkmar High School.
Who are the coaches?
The coaches are: Mrs. Steimer (Media Specialist) and Mrs. Buckley (Media Clerk).
How many books will I have to read?
We will be reading 15 books from the Gwinnett Middle School Readers Rally List. Students wishing to compete on the Jones team at the County Readers Rally competition will take a test in December over the 15 books.
What will we do during Readers Rally meetings?
Students will read the books on their own time. When we meet after school, we will work in groups to write questions for each book. Then we will use our buzzer system to practice in a quiz bowl format. Will will also work in groups to make book trailers using computers. We will also have lost of yummy snacks!
What is the cost involved with Readers Rally?
Books will be available for checkout through the media center. Many of the titles are also available in eBook version through the Follett Shelf on Destiny Quest. The only cost will be to purchase a Tshirt if you are on the county competition team.
